Hamtech, Inc. was founded in April of 1996 by Dave Hamelund. Dave owned and operated a machine shop on M-20 in Big Rapids, called Big Rapids Machine & Assembly, Inc., 15 years prior to moving the business to the Industrial Park in Big Rapids. His father, Frank (Les) worked along side him sharing his expertise. His brother John joined them just before the move and business name change.

Built on principles that combine the latest in modern tooling capabilities with old fashioned friendly service, Dave Hamelund and the rest of the Hamtech employees are dedicated to providing quality solutions for all of your machining and metal fabrication needs.

With over a hundred years of combined machine shop experience our staff continues the tradition of quality work, innovative solutions and customer satisfaction that have become a trademark of Hamtech.

As a full service machine shop, our capabilities are enhanced by a wide variety of state-of-the-art CAD, machining and fabrication equipment. Our ability to produce complex parts from a broad selection of materials may be just the solution that you have been looking for. While these physical capabilities important, our greatest asset is the skill and dedication of our people and their commitment to satisfying you, our customer, with a quality and timely product.

Hamtech provides the same quality service and the personal one-on-one customer relationships that Big Rapids Machinery & Assembly offered all of its customers. Since moving into our expanded facilities, we have continued to expand our line of service, both in the custom machining market as well as our ability to efficiently handle large production runs. Of course, the company is still owned and operated by Dave. We are sorry to say Frank (Les) passed away Oct. 5, 2004.

We are still growing and are very happy to be a part of the Merchants of Big Rapids.
